SUSTAINABILITY AND SOURCING

Less is A’mor is a proudly 100% sustainable brand. We are fully transparent about our fabrics, production, and sourcing channels. We produce in Toronto, Latvia and Ukraine and source our fabrics from the best mills. Our silk fabrics are sourced from TÉLIO in Quebec. Founded in 1952 in Montreal, TÉLIO is one of the largest fabric suppliers in North America. They are famous for supporting emerging designers in Canada through design competitions and generous scholarship grants. 

We use the finest European quality lace and fabrics for our products, sourced from Lauma Fabrics, a leading European manufacturer with a strong commitment to sustainability. Lauma Fabric companies and suppliers comply with internationally recognized production standards of Oeko-Tex, REACH and ISO. Products must be free of over 100 harmful substances to human health and must be manufactured in environmentally friendly facilities.

Lauma Fabrics acquires electricity by a local supplier Latvenergo, which is one of the most environmentally friendly electricity producers in the EU. In 2018, 47% of its electricity output was generated from renewable energy sources, mostly water. Learn more about Lauma Fabric’s sustainability practices here.

Less is A’mor focuses on comfortable and stylish pieces for every day and special occasions, using the best fabrics to create pieces that are well-made and flattering. Our natural silk loungewear is produced in Toronto, Canada, with a full range of pieces such as casual and bridal robes, stylish pajamas, slips, and night sets for sleeping. Less is A’mor was created in 2015 by designer Irina Shad based in Toronto, where she attended the Fashion Design and Techniques Program at George Brown College. After graduating in 2013, she was granted an internship at Shantanu & Nikhil, an international fashion house based in India through the Ontario Global Edge placement program, which is specifically designed for students who intend to found their own fashion business. Currently Irina is working in Toronto's film industry as a costumer. She has worked for Sony Pictures, CBS, Netflix, Disney. She is a teacher at Toronto Fashion Academy all the while developing her label Less Is A'mor.
