2017/2018 Sleepwear Trends

We are deep into the 2017-2018 season, and with the cold of winter closing in rapidly, it’s the perfect time to turn to the comfiest of clothes: pyjamas. When we think of pyjamas, often we think of nightgowns and flannel and sweatpants, all comfortable, plain, serviceable stuff. But dressing well doesn’t have to be confined to just your everyday clothing; you can make your sleepwear just as trendy and sexy. Here are some 2017/2018 trends for sleepwear:

Coming on the back of the lace trend, slips are very much in now. Slips can incorporate a variety of current trends: sleek fabrics, lace edging, sheer cut-outs, and embroidered detailing—it’s all about elegance with an edge of seductiveness.

Traditional pyjama sets are big as loungewear this season. Using luxurious silks, jewel tones, and contrasting piping on the edges, these sets are transformed from comfortable yet generic into something fashionable and sophisticated.

Long robes and kimonos are in as well, also incorporating lace, bold prints, and silk fabrics to create a dramatic and sophisticated look. These are an excellent addition to your bedtime wardrobe, and an easy way to make both loungewear and sleepwear seem utterly glamorous.

A huge trend at the moment is athletic wear, and sleepwear is no different. Sports-lounge—loungewear with an activewear vibe—is all the rage. Tank tops, sweaters, sweatpants, and other active-inspired pieces, along with laces and sporty stripes, combine with silk and fabric blends to make for a cozy yet hip look.
